Letter given to Jerry and Brennan Newbury at Sunflower RV Resorts

I have a letter I gave to Jerry & Brennan, and Brenda Hall. I would like to send a copy of the letter to Mark Franklin the CEO of Sunflower Resort.

My e-mail is thebossmlc@***.com. I am Mary Lou Carey and have been a resident at Sunflower since 1996. The letter needs to be reviewed by Mark. The letter given to them had a CC: saying I was sending a letter to Mark.

What is in the letter needs to be addressed by Cal-AM. I do a lot of volunteering and should be read by him. I have enjoyed living there in the winter and volunteering for the Resort.

This will help improve the park and make it feel more like. It has gone the wrong way the past 4 years.

As a resident of palm breezes I can not even believe you would post things of this nature !!! I would call this defermation of character and harassment to the park manager. I think you should look a little closer I believe she dresses very well and does not have any tattoos on on her arms. I also see her work very hard to correct issues as they come up. If you are following the rules all is well maybe you are the problem in fact to post this type of thing I sence this goes beyond the gate or your apparent lies of her appearance ? You sound like a very angry and petty person!

ADA Law

One of Cal Am properties just kicked a person with an emotional support dog out of market. They would not see the official papers and would not listen that the dog was too young to have vest cuz vests are issued after 2nd shots.Worse still, the man put his hands physically on the woman who has the emotional support dog and literally push her out of the door and the woman was already leaving voluntarily. Any one knows, you don't physically touch someone that needs an emotional support animal.

There are no legal forms in existence to "certify" an emotional support animal. Registries and I.D.

cards are paid scams that fools like you buy into - an emotional support animal registry DOES NOT EXIST within our government and you are simply giving your money to a company smart enough to dupe you out of it.

Emotional support animals are NOT service animals, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (federal law, try researching it) and they are not protected by the law as true service animals are. A business does not have to allow your ESA.

Could you please move the Good Life RV Cal am Park the dogs their control the park they do whatever the dog owners want

Guest

Have them come to GoodLife Park the dogs run the whole park

Guest

Certified emotional support dogs are a joke. Any one with any type of dog can go online and get a certificate. An emotional support dog is just a pet not at all certified.

You need to learn the laws of MHP... the resident should have just got a money order in the residents name..

Perhaps there are reasons why the church did not trust the resident. You need to learn the laws of MHP...

Tournaments

These are all listed and show shuffleboard. This was at one time a good interpark tournament started at Sunflower before moving to east valley. It is no longer a tournament but a supposed fun day. Why is not still a proper team event and if not should be listed as one. All others are team events why was this one stopped. Bob Atherley for all players at Sunflower. We would like to participate in a real tournament again against the other parks. we have our on fun days three times a week.

Towerpoint in Mesa Arizona Going Backwards!

Towerpoint is getting worse. There is a new co-management team that was hired in the summer of 2015 and the resort is going backwards.

The streets are rarely cleaned now and are dirty. They were cleaned weekly previously. The female manager presents well but her hubby looks dumpy and dresses like a slob. He needs a haircut and a shave and a course in customer service. He's ignorant and eventually will *** off the wrong guy, no doubt in my mind.

He has come close several times already and is too *** to realize it. Rent increases $250.00 annually and we see the place declining. They increased the charge for reading our hydro meters by another dollar this year to $18.00 and charge monthly for sewer and water when we are not here. Management moved a pool fence into the beautiful courtyard totally screwing it up so they could increase the square footage around the pools to sell more booze.

There are less staff looking after the general cleaning and maintenance inside and out and it shows. Front gate security is a joke. When we bought a few years back, we were told they were aiming to make Towerpoint a 5 star resort. That has become a joke too.

Selling our nice park model with an Arizona room will soon be our solution as you can see by the complaints about Cal-Am on this site, it is all about the money and soaking the customer. What a shame!

Excessive Rents last ten years

I have lived in this park formerly Fiesta RV and now part of Val Vista Villages for almost 18 years. When I moved back to Arizona in 2002 I bought a park model here. The rents at that time were about $2500 a year. Since then the rents have been increased on a yearly basis between $300 to $400 a year. My rent this last year was $4950. That is almost double in the last ten years since Cal AM bought this park around 2005. The rent increases are outrageous considering most of us are on fixed incomes. A petition has been circulated and sent to Cal AM corporate in CA..I doubt it will have any difference. A prime example of predatory business practices by Cal AM

I own a Park Model in Val Vista, Mesa. For the past 5 years the pad rent has increased between $300-$400/year.

This year 2016 the rent has increased $400 + $100 tax for a total of $500. The Canadian dollar is down and the exchange rate is up. So starting 2016 pad fees will be in the neighborhood of $6000. US or $8000 Canadian.

Just a bit excessive. Cal Am your greed is going to be your demise!

Rent

I have lived here for 10 years. My total rent in the year 11-3-2005 was $553.93. that includes gas, elec. water, sewer, trash. On Oct. 3, 2015 my total rent $693.52. Now you are raising the space rent to $630.00. I could understand the increases if the Reno Cascade Mobile Park was worth it. IT'S NOT....There are to many empty trailers and empty lots..It's not the responsibility of the other home owners to pay for the emptiness of the park... I fine that I can no longer live in the Reno Cascade Mobile home park...So now I have to sale my home and it's not fair...You can't keep increasing the space rent to get people to buy and move in here. I have never stayed at a resort where the workers drink alcohol while they are waiting on the customers. Rich the worker at the Sands RV & Golf Resort, gets very rude & short with people the more he drinks. He ignores some people that are standing right in front of him. I was at happy hour on Wednesday, I know he had 6 beers just in the hour I was sitting near the bar. I don't drink alcohol. I don't mind if people drink, but don't get rude. I watched him complain about how things are run in the park. He's not a people person. I won't be going to anymore happy hours that he works. I stayed here because it was supposed to be a fun place. I won't be back next year if he's here. We were going to buy a park model, not now not here.

Why is the pool temperature now so cold?

Temperature at the Towerpoint pool has been lowered. Why? No longer warm - and that was about the only reason to stay here. Great residents, but poor management. The only services now seem to be promotion of the cafe and selling event tickets. We need management that understands customer service. New management, new realtor for the park, trashy look to deck area and now a cold pool - why would anyone want to be here in the winter months?

The pools are coolder and now alowing people to drink right in the pool. Smells like brewery for us that don't drink.

Cal-Am should be offering Canadians some sort of discount.

If we all leave Cal-Am parks they will be pretty empty. Water machine always broken they brought in an old machine from somewhere that loves to steal your money.

Buyer Beware

If you are selling your unit in one of the Cal-Am parks and get a phone call from a E.J. Topping don't fall for his promise to sell your unit on his web site, This will save you about $200, total scam. Not sure why Cal-Am lets him in the parks. I know his wife sells RVs in their monthly news letters. We know a lot of people left because they kept raising the prices but we feel it was a great 10 years with a lot of memories.

Upgraded but downgraded

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
After staying in the Fortuna de Oro RV Park for 14 years we are seriously considering leaving. The park has undergone a lot of upgrades but at a serious increase in pad rent. Lots of amenities for dogs and dogs own the park. Dogs are allowed everywhere turning the park into a large doggie toilet. It is a large park and could easily have a segregated area where non-dog owners could enjoy a no-bark and no pooch toilet atmosphere. Complaints are accepted but nothing changes. The two dog parks started out fine but are becoming so unclean that some dogs don't even want to go in there. Local management has their orders and can't change anything. Lots of units for sale and many empty lots. The problem is not all economic but ownership does not recognize that there is a problem. The "free" WiFi is usable for basic needs but only in November or late at night. The rest of the time it is worth every cent you pay for.

Fortuna de Oro-- noisy ATVs running through wash constantly

There is a wash between 1243 and 1244. Atvs are constantly running through there fast, loud and noisy creating lots of dust. There are several other ways to get into the wash. Management here has been asked in the past to close it off and this would eliminate the problem. But nothing has been done even though Gregg has said at coffee and donuts that he was going to close it off. If you want to enjoy a quiet Sunday afternoon it is impossible. I don't think this is the way a 5 star resort is supposed to operate.

No response from "Chris"

I moved into a new manufactured (Palm Harbor) in the Eldorado Villa, King City. I have had some issues that the manager passed on to Chris. His response is "oh yea, I'll take care of that this week". This went on for 4 weeks. I hired someone and took care of the issue. Now, the rain gutter was not installed correctly and I have rain draining to the wrong end, just over my front door. I talked to the manager, Sheila Brown, and she said she'll talk to Chris. I don't think Chris listens to her. Sheila said she'll talk to her manager. I don't know if her manager listened to her either. But, I have a rain gutter that flooded the crawl space and is still dripping on my front step. Can anything be done or should I hire somebody to take care of this?
